Monte Sereno Transitional
A better plan to make the house shine…
This was a large 3,000 SF remodel and 500 SF addition to an existing house in Monte Sereno. It's always interesting to see how people live in the exisitng space. This house was designed for a formal living style that didn't match the client's taste. There were large areas of the house that were not being used. We moved walls around to open up circulation flow, created visual openings in interior spaces so people could feel the size and scale of the house and solved structural / seismic problems. An overly large Dining room was reconfigured to create a reading library for the Family Room. A master wing was added to match the house and create a better flowing floor plan. The Kitchen was opened up so it could be the strategic center of the house.
